QC photos are CNFans' visual verification of your item before it ships, and learning to read them is the highest-return skill in rep buying. Most disappointed buyers approved from a single flattering photo. QC review is entirely learnable — once you know the angles and what a real defect looks like, your hit rate climbs sharply.
A standard set covers the item from several angles plus close-ups of the details most likely to reveal a problem — for shoes the toe shape, sole stitching, logos and inside label; for bags the hardware, edge painting, lining and embossing; for apparel the print, stitching and tags. Treat the set as the inspection you'd do in a shop, not a formality.
Tell a genuine defect from ordinary variation. Minor imperfections are normal — a slightly proud stitch, a faint glue mark, tiny texture differences. Real defects differ in kind: wrong logo fonts, crooked stitching, mismatched colours, adhesive smears, wrong shape. When unsure, request close-ups and compare against reference images. The full QC guide lists checkpoints by category.
You can always ask for extra shots — do it when a detail is blurry or something looks off. If you spot a real defect, reject and request a replacement; that's what QC is for. If flaws are minor variance, approve and ship. Don't approve something you're unsure about out of impatience.
QC is your leverage moment before shipping. Use it with a good source and you'll rarely get a bad item. See the shipping lines guide for what happens after you approve, the spreadsheet guide for finding items, and the CNFans review for the full platform picture.
The mindset that gets the best results is to treat the QC set exactly as you'd treat picking an item up in a physical shop. You wouldn't buy shoes by glancing at one photo from across the room; you'd turn them over, check the stitching, look inside. Apply the same scrutiny to every photo CNFans provides. Study all of them, not just the flattering hero shot, and know in advance which details tend to reveal problems for your specific item type. That preparation turns a casual glance into a real inspection.
Request extra photos whenever a detail is unclear — it's free and CNFans expects it. Then decide on evidence, not impatience. A genuine defect means reject and ask for a replacement; that's the entire purpose of the QC stage. Minor factory variance with the right shape means approve and move to shipping. The buyers who consistently receive good items are simply the ones who refuse to approve anything they're unsure about, every single time.
Yes — that's the entire point of the QC stage. If you spot a genuine defect you can reject and request a replacement or refund while the item is still at the warehouse.
Real defects include wrong logo fonts, crooked structural stitching, mismatched pairs, obvious glue smears and incorrect shape. Minor glue marks that clean off, slightly proud stitches and tiny texture differences are normal factory variance.
Not always, but do whenever a key detail is blurry or something looks off. Extra shots are free and a short wait is far cheaper than approving a flawed item you can't return easily.
